Rivers Edge Facelift

At RiversEdge Residential, we were commissioned to breathe new life into a space that lacked character, transforming it into a warm and inviting home—without altering any structural elements. The client wished to retain existing features such as the floors, wardrobes, ceilings, and furniture pieces, which posed an exciting creative challenge: how to inject personality into the space while preserving its original framework. In the dining area, we allowed the client’s Scandinavian-style oak furniture to guide our design direction. To create visual contrast and depth, we introduced black wall panels that provided a textured backdrop, adding bold character to the space. A colorful abstract artwork was carefully selected to infuse the room with vibrancy and tie the look together without overwhelming the calm palette. For the master bedroom, our approach centered around enhancing the architectural beauty of the vaulted ceiling. We introduced elegant, neutral-toned wall paneling behind the bed, incorporating indirect lighting to subtly draw the eye upward and highlight the exposed wooden beams. The paneling’s clean lines added a modern touch and effectively delineated the sleeping area from the adjacent work zone. To harmonize the existing furniture with the refreshed design, we repainted the original bed in black, allowing it to blend seamlessly with the newly introduced finishes. The leather bedside tables paired effortlessly with the paneling, lending a touch of sophistication. A soft green accent color was introduced alongside warm neutrals to bring a sense of serenity and balance. As a personal retreat, the bedroom was designed to feel calm, restful, and welcoming. We adopted a layered lighting approach to create a gentle ambiance, allowing each design element to complement the next and offering the perfect setting to unwind after a long day.
